A portrait session with Chasidy

I just wanted to share a cute portrait session I did on Sunday with you guys. Chasidy is an aspiring model so her session was loads of fun. I kept it simple for this shoot because of how back and forth the weather was, but still in love with the shots we got. I had a hard time choosing my favorites.

Behind the scenes of my latest shoot

Just recently did a magazine shoot with stylist Tamy Lugo (vstylist.com), model Darryl S and MUA Sherry Restifo. Here are some of the behind the scenes shots I took from our shoot.

As always I like to take black and white shots after the shoot. It gives me something to preview, especially in the case of fashion shoots I'm submitting, it can take weeks for anything to come out. :) Here are my favs from the black and whites. I decided to leave some in color because I absolutely loved the contrast of her hair and skin color.

Kayla Deconstructed

Today was a really beautiful day! The temperature was great, the lighting perfect on my front porch so I decided to take advantage of it. I had my hubby help me drag my background outside, and we did the entire shoot out there. I wanted simple shots, something reminiscent of old Calvin Klein ads. I went into the shoot planning to change everything in black and white. One look at Kayla in that lighting though and I totally reneged. LOL. The lighting was soft and really gorgeous. As always at the end of the shoot, we took the wardrobe down to the bare minimal and did the last frames super simple. Here are my fav shots.

Chantel and Mark-Couple's Shoot

So recently I did a couple's shoot with one of my favorite MUAs. I love couples shoots and this was no exception. It's always fun to get a couple together and even more so when you get to spend time with great, funny people. Here are some of my favorite shots from our session.

Roxanne, Roxanne

Meet Roxanne. Roxanne is that woman in the neighborhood, the 'ride or die chick'. I like to call her a classy shit-talker. She's gritty when she needs to be, but with a few swipes of make-up can be that woman you would be proud to have on your arm. Men love her, women envy her swag. This beauty story was fun for me, it's a bit of an urban story. Gina brought the attitude and Anamary brought to life the make-up that told both sides of Roxanne's personality. Clean with a punch of color to drive home just how vivacious she is, the makeup said it all. It was a pleasure shooting this  and that all goes to Gina. Watching her move and pose really wrote the story for me. I went through the film with my husband and as I'm thinking aloud about what her body language was saying, he came up with the title. He started singing 'Roxanne, Roxanne' and it clicked. I'm currently obsessed with beauty shots, and these are some of my favs this year.
